Student Life

At The Highlands School, we are committed to developing the whole person. Our athletics and fine arts programs, along with other extracurricular clubs and events, allow students to explore personal interests and develop new skills and talents. A student might be playing on the sports field on Friday night and performing on the stage the next day.

We offer a wide array of co-curricular opportunities. From our student ambassador program to our award-winning choir; from our Challenge and Conquest Club to our highly ranked sports programs, our many clubs and events seek to polish our students’ character and leadership skills.

Athletics

Through athletics, students learn about the importance of teamwork and overcoming challenges, while learning how to win (and sometimes lose) with grace, dignity and humility. Our coaches play a large role in the Integral Formation® process as we seek to develop Christian leaders who will transform society.

Fine Arts

Through the arts, students learn the discipline and focus of independent work, while also collaborating with others in the creative process. More importantly, each THS student understands and embraces that the ultimate purpose of the arts is to glorify God.

Student Clubs

Mission Trips

In addition to other volunteer opportunities throughout the year, students are invited to participate in two annual mission trips. An international trip is offered to our high school students every year during Spring Break, and during Holy Week, we connect our families to volunteer opportunities in Dallas. These provide our students with spiritually enriching opportunities to put their faith into action and experience the internal rewards of serving others, especially those most in need.

Family Involvement

Community is at the heart of our school. Families create lasting memories and build a strong sense of belonging by volunteering in classrooms, attending performances and games and participating in our year-round social events. We warmly invite you to engage and become an integral part of our vibrant community. Our active THS Parents’ Club plays a crucial role in organizing activities and fostering connections, helping to bring our families closer together. Join us and experience the enriching bond that makes our school truly special.

Lunch at THS

Students are welcome to bring a packed lunch, but we are equipped with a full-service kitchen and provide lunches through a third-party catering company that offers daily hot lunches and a wide variety of nutritious food options. Lunch accounts are set up directly with our caterer, which simplifies the transaction for our parents and students. Middle and high school students can purchase additional snack items, and seniors who have earned the privilege are allowed to eat lunch off campus.

Uniforms

By requiring our students to come dressed in uniform, we cultivate a culture of respect and intentionality in our classrooms. We have a sizing uniform store on campus where students can try on uniforms before ordering them online. Our Parents’ Club also coordinates a Used Uniform Store on campus where parents can both donate and purchase gently used uniforms.
